Stoneywood 4

Midweek Stoneywood were ready to call the game off with a water logged pitch but luckily Insch had their second pitch free and managed to rearrange the fixture.
IDFC had some problems with illness and could only muster one sub. Playing two 20 minute halfs, 7 a side the lads were keen to get going on the nippy morning.

Insch got off the starting line very well and took control of the first half with an early goal on five minutes from on form Ryan STEWART, Ali Naysmith again with the assist.
Stoneywood got a lucky break on 12mins and equalised.
Captain Marvel Bryce DAWSON reorganised the defence before winning a loose ball in the centre of the Insch half and bursting through all comers to drill the ball low past the keeper to re-establish Insch's lead on 14mins.
Ross Alan had a few early chances against a good stoneywood Right wing, his wicked left foot going close on 15 & 16mins.
Ali NAYSMITH puting in another lung busting performance won the ball in the centre of the park, a little one two with golden boots Ryan Stewart opened the defence, with only the keeper to beat he placed a blistering shot into the top left corner on 19mins.

[Half Time: Insch & District 3, Stoneywood 1]

Insch made the one sub at half time to give super sub Alex Duncan a half after returning from Injury, Ross Allan gave way.
Stoneywood called their own changes and took the majority of the early posession giving Dylan Hanson pleanty to do, Jake Wilson stood firm in defence.
Both Dyan and Jake clearing their lines well and on a couple of occasions Kyle Scott was asked to pull off some of his wonder saves.
Unfortunately we did let one in on 22mins and again a second on 26mins.
Score levelled at 3-3 it was time for a captains performance with Dawson rolling the sleaves up and taking the game forward his long range shot saw Alex DUNCAN getting a toe to the ball showing why he's so important to the team on 27mins. The name Eric Black springs to mind!!
IDFC again got back on top allowing Ryan Stewart and Ali Naysmith more freedom to get forward.
NAYSMITH got the ball out on the right and claims he went for the long range lob the keeper shot, jury is still out..... was it a cross? Didn't matter it ended in the back of the net on 29mins.
Stoneywood scored their 4th and last on 33mins.
Dawson went for a long range drive on 37mins forcing the Stoneywood No.6 to head an Own Goal.
The Icing on the cake came from the lead goal scored Ryan STEWART late in the game, played from the middle of the park Alex Duncan placed the ball at Ryan's feet, under pressure from the defence he cooly drilled the ball into the righthand side of the goal on 39mins to conclude the match and the victory.

Great goals, great goal keeping, steady defence, Midfield on top! what more can we ask??
The Lads did their team mates and club proud.
They really know how to make the Man of the Match decision hard, Bryce again had a great game as did Ali but I think this week Ryan Stewart is my man of the match as he was involved in everything linking well with both sides of the field laying players off, holding and winning the ball not to mention scoring two goals.
The Player of the Month went to Ross Allan who is one of only 3 lads who have not missed a training session.
His dedication to our club and team is to be commended. Well done Lads.
