IDFC edged out again on penalties in Sports Village World Cup Tournament

IDFC, Albion, Kintore Utd, FDS and The Boys are on Fire contested the inaugral Sports Village World Cup Tournament on Monday and after ending the group on top, IDFC progressed to a semi final v our friends from Kintore Utd. After a hard fought game, IDFC came out on top and ended up in the final with FDS, who we had managed to beat 4-0 in the group game. No such luck though and this time round after some heroic defending by both teams the dreaded penalties were used to find a winner. Once again IDFC were on the wrong end of the result and the FDS boys were victorious - Well Done to Simon and the boys! - GT

Results:

IDFC 2 - 1 Kintore Utd.
IDFC 0 - 2 Albion World XI
IDFC 4 - 0 FDS
IDFC 4 - 0 The Boys are on Fire

Semi Final

IDFC 1 - 0 Kintre Utd.

Final

IDFC 0 - 0 FDS
(FDS won 5-3 on penalties)

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
